Sausage Gravy and Biscuits


 Ingredients

1 lb breakfast sausage

3 tbsp all-purpose flour

3 cups whole milk

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp paprika

Freshly baked biscuits, split open


Instructions

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage, breaking it up with a spoon, until fully browned. Do not drain the grease.


Sprinkle the flour evenly over the cooked sausage. Stir well and cook for 1 to 2 minutes to remove the raw flour taste.


Slowly pour in the milk while stirring constantly to prevent lumps.


Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring often, until the gravy thickens, about 5 to 7 minutes.


Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Adjust seasoning to taste.


Serve hot spooned generously over warm split biscuits.
