 Deep-Dish Hamburger Pepperoni Pizza Pie

This Deep-Dish Hamburger Pepperoni Pizza Pie is a hearty, family-friendly meal that combines the best flavors of a classic meat lover's pizza with the comforting texture of a baked pie. A buttery deep-dish crust is filled with seasoned ground beef, savory pepperoni, rich pizza sauce, and plenty of melted mozzarella cheese. Baked until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly, this recipe is perfect for weeknight dinners, parties, or game-day gatherings.

Ingredients

For the Filling

1 pound (450 g) lean ground beef

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 small onion, finely diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1½ cups pizza sauce

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

½ teaspoon dried oregano

½ teaspoon garlic powder

¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

For the Pie

1 (9-inch) refrigerated deep-dish pie crust

1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

30–40 pepperoni slices

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Optional Toppings

Sliced black olives

Diced green bell pepper

Sliced mushrooms

Fresh basil or chopped parsley

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Press the pie crust into a 9-inch deep-dish pie plate and refrigerate while preparing the filling.

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened.

Stir in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.

Add the ground beef and cook until fully browned, breaking it into small crumbles. Drain any excess fat.

Mix in the pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, oregano, garlic powder, crushed red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.

Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over the bottom of the pie crust.

Spoon the meat mixture evenly over the cheese.

Arrange the pepperoni slices in an even layer over the beef.

Top with the remaining mozzarella, cheddar cheese, and Parmesan.

Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and lightly browned.

Let the pie rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Garnish with fresh basil or parsley and serve hot.
